Carroll County Department of Recreation & Parks


Carroll County is a beautiful, rural area, convenient to Baltimore, Gettysburg, and Washington, D.C. In addition to its great location, Carroll County offers a peaceful day away from the hustle and bustle of more metropolitan areas. Carroll offers so much for our visitors to see. Here you will find history, antiquing, festivals, walking tours, driving tours, biking tours, and nature parks.



South Carroll Food Pantry


South Carroll Food Pantry, a Distribution Partner of the Maryland Food Bank, provides non-perishable groceries to anyone in need. After checking in, clients are invited to our pantry area where they can choose groceries to bag or box from “supermarket” style tables. Volunteers are available to help load groceries into each client’s car.



Carroll County Pulic Library


Members of the Friends of Carroll County Public Library support the library in its mission to deliver lifelong learning for all ages through advocating for public funding for libraries, promoting awareness of public library services and needs, and by enhancing library program resources in partnership with staff and trustees. Westminster Astronomical Society


Westminster Astronomical Society serves as the Astronomical Resource for Carroll County, Maryland. We have public star parties all around Carroll and the surrounding counties, and we do community service work to further educate the citizens of Carroll County about the great overhead nightly resource, our Milky Way. Our Motto: “Astronomy is looking up!” Keep an eye on our calendar for our upcoming in-person outreach events such as open observatory nights at Bear Branch and the Blaine F. Roelke Memorial Observatory. At Soldier’s Delight and at Charlotte’s Quest Nature Center as well.
